Norwegian pork feast and the jedi birthday
The yearly Norwegian pork feast aka Norwegian christmas happens December 24th, one day after Anakin’s birthday. So this year we spread our celebrations and our gifts over a few days so to not utterly snow the poor little man down in new things, concluding with Anakin’s 2nd birthday party a few days before New Year’s. In-between the various parties we had very quiet days, just enjoying each other, fine wine and relaxing times. Here’s a whole lot of photos of what went down and how we rolled. First off it was this little jedi’s birthday
He got a brand new balance bike and helmet
and was ecstatic!
It was all about the bike, all day
Anakin and I made the decorations for our christmas branch.
It was the most beautiful “tree” we have ever had.
The Norwegian pork feast set up
with our other traditional tree. the fruit version
Feast with excellent friends
Anakin showing his affectionate side
Darn cute mushroom, if I may say so
More presents to open
Post-feast fresh air
Christmas morning bike ride
And afternoon ride. Parking is important.
Then it was the big birthday party!
We went fully cane sugar free and had a large fruit shark, several organic, raw cacao snacks as well as cheese. dips and olives. Oh and sugar free muffins. YUM!
The king himself, with his chosen headgear for the day.
Eyeballing his favourites, the green chilli garlic olives
I forgot to take photos most of the time, but the outside was decorated with balloons in the tree and blankets. It was beautiful. Take my word for it.
Our favourite turk and new babysitter
We forgot all about the lights and the singing while the guests were here. so we did a small version afterwards.
Next christmas will be a special one with hopefully a fair few Norwegians around. We’ve finally set a date for our wedding, December 13th, so for us it will be a couple of weeks of festivities of all sorts.
